Mackenzie was currently 3 months pregnant and she still didn’t know what she wanted to do about the baby. She and Sophie had to talk about it because she wasn’t sure she wanted to keep it but she didn’t believe in terminating it. So adoption would be her only option. Going through the whole pregnancy, just to give it to another family terrified her. But she knew she had to do something about it.
Mackenzie was on her way home from work when she ran into someone And stumbled back slightly. She glanced up and a smile graced her face. ”Tini!” Mack exclaimed hugging the girl in front of her. Christine, or Tini, was her childhood best friend and her first serious girlfriend. ”what the hell are you doing here?”
christine grinned at her ex girlfriend as she took her in. ”Mom and dad wanted to vacation here so here I am,” She said with a smile.
”Why don’t you come back to my apartment? I want you to meet my girlfriend,” Mack said grinning as she took Tini by the hand and dragged her to her apartment. She opened up the door and shut it. ”Baby?! I want you to meet someone!” Mack called kicking off her shoes.

Sophie had gotten back from work late the previous night. She’d been making arrangements to make sure Brennan wouldn’t be able to get near Mackenzie. She’d woken up late and Mackenzie had already left for work, so she had gotten dressed in the casual clothing she wore around the house. She’d just finished eating a late lunch and was doing the dishes when she heard Mackenzie come in.
She finished cleaning her plate before heading out to the living room. “Hey,” she said, glancing at the stranger. She really didn’t like strangers in her apartment, but it’s not like she was going to be hostile for no reason.

Mackenzie turned and looked at Sophie. She had to remind herself that they had a guest before she did something that wouldn’t be acceptable to do around guests. ”Hey! So I was walking home from work and ran into Christine. Tini this is Sophie. Soph, this is Tini, my best friend from my childhood,” Mack said grinning as she wrapped an arm around the girls shoulders. ”i invited her over to catch up and so you could meet her. I hope it’s okay.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Christine,” Sophie commented, studying the pair of them. She didn’t like the feeling in the pit of her stomach, but she chose to ignore it. “Of course, it’s no problem at all. Would you like tea or something to eat?” she offered.

”I actually need to use the bathroom,” Christine said with a small smile.
”Right! It’s down the hall, second door on the left,” Mack said as Tini walked away. Mackenzie turned to look at Sophie. ”Hi…” Mack said wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and kissing her softly

“Thats alright, I was exhausted last night anyway. I doubt you would have been able to get me up.” she smirked. “So Christine. How long have you known her?”

”I know. You got back pretty late,” Mack said softly. She heard what Sophie asked and she felt her cheeks turn pink with a blush. ”I, uh, met her in elementary school. We lost touch my sophomore year of high school because she moved,” Mack said

Sophie heard what Mackenzie said. “Thats a pity,” she replied. There was something in Mackenzie’s face and the way that she spoke that make Sophie think that wasn’t the whole story, but she didn’t want to press any boundaries. “She seems… nice.”

Mackenzie heard what she said and she looked at her girlfriend. ”We- she was my first serious girlfriend and we broke up because she was moving and didn’t want to do long distance,” Mackenzie said to Sophie.

Mackenzie heard what Sophie said and she nodded her head. ”I’m in love with you. I see a future wit you not her,” Mack said to her softly. ”Tonight we do need to talk… about what we’re going to do… about the baby.”
”Baby?” Christine asked appearing behind them.
Mackenzie turned around. ”Uh… I’m pregnant… I was raped moms new boyfriend when they cornered me,” Mackenzie said.
”What? Kenzie are you okay?” Tini asked concerned.
”Im fine. Just conflicted but we will figure it out,” Mack said.
Tini looked between the two. ”How did you two meet?” Tini asked.

Sophie froze as Christine joined their conversation, but she resumed a casual posture half a second later. She didn’t like it when people were able to sneak up on her. Usually she had a much better guard up. She listened to their interaction until Christine posed a question. “We first met at a party. Then I recognised her at school and it was only my second week so she was one of the few people I knew.” Sophie replied. She decided she didn’t really want to know how Christine and Mack had met, so she fell back into the hostess role instead. “Are you sure you weren’t hungry? I baked cookies earlier today.” Sophie was terrible at cooking, but somehow she could manage baking pretty well.

Mackenzie smiled over at Sophie as she spoke to Christine. She really wanted her best friend to get along with her girlfriend. ”and eventually she asked me out in one of the most amazing ways possible and we’ve been together ever since,” Mack said looking over at Tini
Christine gave a tight smile. ”Thats amazing Kenzie. I’m really glad you found someone who makes you happy,” Tini said with what appeared to be a genuine tone of voice. She glanced at Sophie. ”I could definitely go for some cookies.”
”Im just going to run this upstairs. Baby can you take Tini to the kitchen? I’ll be right down,” Mack said before disappearing.
