Appearance
Mackenzie is a young girl standing 4 feet tall and weighing 70ish pounds. She can often be seen in clothes that are a little bit dirty for the average child. That's mainly due to her lack of care at home. She can also be seen wearing bruises on her arms and legs from the abuse that she receives at home. She tries to hide them the best she can but she's getting tired of having to hide them from on lookers.
Personality
Mackenzie has a very sweet personality. She is very kind when it comes to being around her elders, and that's mainly because her mother has put the fear in her. She's a hard working student at school and often tries to find time to escape her life and to do that she focuses on her school work.
Background
Mackenzie was born to her parents Annie and Eric Camden on November 19. She was a pretty easy going baby. She barely ever cried, she easily slept through the night for her parents when she was around 3 months old and she was always pretty happy. Her parents had nothing to complain about which is why what would happen in the future was so baffling. The red flags for family didn't show up until Mackenzie was around 3. Her mom used to complain about not having any time to herself, that Mackenzie demanded much of her time; as she should since she was just a toddler. Eric was always away and nowhere to be found and when he was around, he wasn't the most pleasant of gentlemen.
When Mackenzie turned 5, that's when the physical abuse and neglect started. Her mom would make sure she had at least two clean outfits every Monday for the week and told her that if she got them dirty, then she would have to go to school in dirty clothes and they would start asking questions. She then proceeded to tell Mackenzie that if they started asking questions, they would then send CPS after them and take her away to live with some scary old man. It must have worked because Mackenzie tried her hardest to not get her clothes dirty. One day, at recess, Mackenzie got her clothes dirty and she cried to her teacher about how CPS was going to take her away from her mom and dad because she got her clothes dirty. Her teacher assured her that she wouldn't be taken away from her parents just for having fun and getting dirty.
When Mackenzie got home that afternoon, her mom saw her clothing and how dirty they were. Her mom told her go to and wait in her room and she would be there in a second. Not wanting to upset her mother, she ran up the stairs to her room, and like a good daughter, sat on her bed. When her mom and dad entered the room, she didn't understand what was going on or why they were so mad. She doesn't really remember much from that day except for constantly asking "why?" over and over again to her parents as they were beating her. After that beating, she was home from school for a few days until the black and blues went away. That was also the first time she was refused a meal and ended up going to bed hungry.
Fast forward to present time, age 10. The abuse is still going on. Her mom and dad are divorced now and she lives primarily with her mom. Once her parents divorced, her dad stopped the abuse claiming it was Annie who was the mastermind behind it all. Many times, Mackenzie pleaded with her dad to take her away from her mom but he said he couldn't because Annie was crazy and capable of so much more than Mackenzie knew. But Mackenzie knew how crazy her mom was. Her mom, one night, came after her with a knife and when she tried to get away, she cut Mackenzie on the stomach. She probably should have gotten stitches from the hospital, but there was no way her mom was going to take her to the hospital with the risk of being found out. The abuse was just getting worse and worse and Mackenzie was finding it harder and harder to make up excuses and hide the bruises.
