also known as "Charley"
Female
Eighteen
Pansexual
Student(mainly)
Appearance
Charlotte is pretty and she knows it. She doesn't flaunt it too much, but she's mastered the casual, messy type of beauty. This usually involves putting her long brown hair into a messy ponytail or bun and getting through life in a hoodie and sweatpants. She has shining green eyes, though in the right light and with a little makeup to help them along they can appear closer to blue. Her skin isn't naturally overly pale, but it begins getting lighter when she spends more time holed up inside.
Personality
Charley sticks to her word. She may not always be honest, and she make make mistakes, but when she says she'll do something she does. This has gotten her in over her head multiple times, but she has trouble asking for help when she needs it. She prefers to suffer in silence on her own. She wants to get things done and if she's bothering other people to do that that's just wasting their time instead.
Charley is very responsible, especially for a teenager. She takes the initiative to do things and, as mentioned above, gets them done. In front of teachers or people who are important she seems like the perfect teacher's pet. There is a flip side to that. She's still a teenager and when she's aggravated she has a sharp tongue. She's gotten into her fair share of trouble picking fights and pulling pranks with her brother.
When Charley is around someone she likes, she isn't overly affectionate. In fact, she has a hard time showing that she cares. When it comes down to it if she likes you she'd lay down her life to protect you, but it only shows in a slightly less mopey demeanor. She never trusts rumors, and she'll always be the loyal friend, even when everyone else has abandoned you.
Background
Expectations have always been high for Charley. Impossibly so. Her mother left when she was just 2 years old, leaving her father to raise her and her brother on his own. Unfortunately his job required travelling and didn't provide a very stable living environment for growing kids. It was rare that she stayed in one place for a whole year. While she was born in London, she'd traveled around most of the UK by the time she was 10.
Charley didn't like making friends when she knew she'd have to leave them. Keeping her grades high had never been a problem, so she could rarely distract herself with studying. Instead she tended to retreat within herself and picked up an interest in books and art and really any other activity she could complete on her own. On occasion her father would insist she get involved with whatever community they were staying at, so she found herself growing interested in theatre. She helped back stage at many different community theatres building sets and making costumes. When she was younger she wasn't trusted with much but as she grew up the skill she honed became quite good.
When she was 14 and living in Ireland, one of the leads in a play fell and broke her leg. Charley was the only person that knew the part well enough to take over, so on opening night she found herself on the stage rather than hiding behind the curtains. As much as she thought she would hate it, she didn't mind. After that she began getting more involved with plays and took classes for her acting, singing, and dancing skillsalthough she didn't plan to use them too much in the future.
While her life might not have been ideal, it was hers and she liked it. When she was 16, her dad got cancer. She got a part time job to help support herself and her brother, but there wasn't much she could do to help her dad. In that time she felt very hopeless. It wasn't long before he passed away.
Their mother was contacted and agreed to take them in. The woman seemed to genuinely regret leaving and, while her little brother may have bought it, Charley had a hard time caring. She'd left and that was that.
Now Charley lives in New York with her mom and attends Manhattan High. She works a part time job as a barista at a locally owned cafe and in her free time she tutors younger students. She has considered getting involved with theatre, but she's been too busy to do more than paint a few sets or design some costumes here and there.
