Mackenzie heard Sophie and she nodded her head. "I'll be okay..." Mack said tiredly as she winced as her doctor delivered the placenta. The doctor covered Mack's legs.
"Okay Mackenzie. In about 20 minutes we're going to move you to a different room where you will recover for a few days with your baby," the doctor said. "You did amazing sweetheart."

Sophie kept her face as nonchalant as possible until she made it out of the room, then the panic hit in a flood. To her, the hospital was a place for the past. It was where pains and ailments went to die in secret. It wasn't a place she wanted to associate with children. She couldn't help but picture what could bring that child back to this hospital in the future.
She stayed out of peoples' way as she found a balcony and stepped outside. There were chairs and a table set up there, but she sank down against the wall and tried to make her breathing even. She pressed her eyes shut, trying to convince herself she was anywhere else. A few minutes later, her heart didn't feel like it was trying to break free from her chest. It took another few minutes still to calm herself down fully and stop her hands from shaking. Another few minutes to remind herself that this was a good thing and she was supposed to be happy.
She returned to the room about 10 minutes after she had left. "I'm back," she said, moving to sit near Mackenzie.

Mackenzie was handed back the baby and she smiled as she looked at the baby in her arms. "You are so precious," Mack whispered softly as she stroked her face softly. Mack wasn't sure how long she was sitting there but she eventually heard Sophie's voice. "Are you okay?" She asked tiredly.

Mackenzie heard Sophie and she glanced down at Lizzie as she stirred slightly. "I'm tired, in pain and I can't believe I just did all that," Mack said with a soft laugh.

Mackenzie heard what she said and she nodded her head. "She's precious," Mackenzie whispered kissing her daughter on the forehead. "What are we going to call each other around her? Like do we tell her that we're Mommy? Or Mack and Sophie? I'm new to all this..."

Mackenzie looked at Sophie. "Well I think technically, we're both her moms," Mackenzie said softly. "So it would be only right for her to call us both Mom. She could call us Momma Sophie and Momma Mack so that way it's not that confusing for her when she's older as to who she wants."

Sophie shook her head. "Those are big words for a baby to learn," she pointed out. "How about... Mum for me because that's always what I imagined a child calling me anyways. And then mommy for you?"

Mackenzie heard what Sophie said and she felt her eyes fill with tears. "I love it," Mack whispered softly a few tears escaping her eyes. "How are we going to tell your family? Jesse? Are we even going to mention it to any of your family in London?" Jesse knew that she was pregnant. BUt now they just had to tell him that the baby was here.

Mackenzie heard what she said and she nodded her head. "Okay," She whispered. "If you want to go home and get some sleep you can. Since you got home from work and didn't have time to sleep... especially if you have work tonight."

Mackenzie heard her and she nodded her head. "It's hard to believe that she was just inside me a few hours ago and now she's here," Mack whispered leaning against the pillow behind her head.
