Sophie shook her head as she stood up. "They think if they call me something cute people will assume they like me. This family is all about appearances. They also call Julia Julie and Jesse Jessie." she replied. "If I don't make it back here tonight I'll meet you tomorrow morning. Someone should bring you some dinner if you ask, but you can also go out if you want."

Mack heard what she said and she wrinkled her nose. "Well for the record, I hate the nickname. I prefer Sophie, Soph or my personal favorite, Baby," Mack said to her. She then heard her say if she doesn't make it back here tonight. "Wait... where are you going? You're leaving me here with people I don't know?"

Sophie grinned. "I think it makes me seem like a poodle," she wrinkled her nose. "My step mom wants to talk to me. I have no idea what it's about or how long it will take. She might intend to give me chores." She added in response to the other question. "My dad's out until at least tomorrow so you're perfectly safe. And Liam should be back soon, I'll make sure he checks on you."

Mack heard what she said about her step mom and she bit her lip. "Will I at least meet your step mom or not just yet?" Mack asked. "And when Liam comes to check on me, can you have him bring me something delicious? Like a burger or something? I'm craving red meat." That was definitely a pregnancy craving. Red meat wasn't something she craved often.

Sophie shook her head. "If you never had to meet Cecilia you'd be better off. As it is, you'll probably get to meet her eventually. Just not tonight, I'm going to try to keep her away from you so you have a chance to get over your jetlag before you have to deal with any mind games." she replied. "I'll text Liam and have him pick up a burger. See you soon, love," she added before heading out. She paused at the door. "Oh, and Liam also knows where my room is if you feel the need to drop by."

Mack heard what she said about her step mom. She smiled nervously at Sophie. ”I love you.” Mack said. She then heard what Sophie said about how Liam knows where her room is. ”Even if it’s in the middle of the night because I have a nightmare?” Before Mack just stayed in Sophie’s room, many nights would be spent with her because Mack would have horrible nightmares which would cause panic attacks.

Sophie chewed at the inside of her cheek. She would never leave Mackenzie to deal with the aftermath of a nightmare alone, but she'd have to warn Liam to be careful. She wondered if it would be better to just come out to him with the actual nature of their relationship. "Even if it's the middle of the night," Sophie muttered. "He's on call 24/7 and his room is the one right across the hall."

Mack heard what Sophie said and she nodded her head. ”I don’t like being separated from you…” She muttered. ”It makes me nervous.” Sophie was her safety net. When Sophie wasn’t around, she was afraid of her own shadow most of the time, thanks to her upbringing.

Mack heard what she said and then the urgency of her step moms voice. She frowned as Sophie slipped out of the room. Mack sighed before moving around to look at the room. She pulled back the covers on the bed and she crawled under then. She laid her head down on the pillow and the next thing she knew, she was asleep. Jet lag sucked apparently and the possible pregnancy made her exhausted

The next morning, Sophie got up early. Her alarm clock going off was what actually woke her up, but because of jetlag she felt wide awake. The rising sun did its best to stream through London’s heavy cloud cover, but it failed and the sky was still dark. She got out of bed and did her makeup, carefully making sure she looked perfect. Now that she was back home she didn’t want to have so much as a hair out of place.
When she was done she silently made her way downstairs and to Mackenzie’s room. “Hey, it’s me,” she said as she entered, not sure whether Mackenzie would be awake or asleep. It was now six am so it wasn’t too early, but it was still early by most standards.

Mackenzie tossed and turned all night. Part of it was because she was afraid to leave her room in a house she didn't know and part of it was because she missed Sophie's warmth. She got sick around 4am and managed to close her eyes just for a little bit before she heard her door open. She froze in her bed and when she heard Sophie's voice, she breathed a sigh of relief. She turned her head and looked over at Sophie. "I'm awake. I barely slept last night..." Mack said quietly as she buried her face into the pillow on her bed.

Sophia nodded at Mackenzie’s words. “Jetlag and a new bed can do that to a person,” she sighed. “Sorry I couldn’t make it back last night. Cecilia wanted me to write a speech.” There was a bit of malice in her voice, but it wasn’t directed at Mackenzie. She hated having to give speeches, mainly because they were rarely true.

Mackenzie heard Sophie and she frowned. ”That and I just felt afraid to leave the room…. Plus I got sick this morning at like 4am,” Mack muttered sitting up. ”You look… put together. Not what I’m used to seeing…”

Sophie shrugged. “This took far too much hair spray,” she said, letting her fingertips touch the edge of her hand up hairstyle. Without the spray the humidity would ruin it almost as soon as she stepped outside. “I was thinking I could show you around London before things get too busy. If you’re up for it, of course. The guy with the test also wants to meet up soon.”
