Mack heard what she said and she knew that Sophie was hardheaded and wouldn’t stop doing what she wanted to do but when it came to Mack, if Sophie didn’t want her to do something, she had to stop. Mack heard her question and she gripped the counter top. ”The bitch was in the store waiting for someone. She saw me but didn’t say anything at first. As I came out of the store, she slammed me against the side of the building calling me a bitch and a liar and that it was my fault she got sent ti jail. That she was out for revenge and that she wouldn’t stop until I was dead.”

Sophie pursed her lips and shook her head. "The man she hired... I'm not certain and she could have hired him for something else but based on what I could figure out about him he seems like a hitman." she said. "His friend, the guy that shot me, had killed someone in my gang and that's why he had become a threat at all. Those types of people tend to stick with their own kind."

”well fucking fantastic,” Mack muttered swaying slight, the exhaustion hitting her finally. ”I hate her. I fucking hate her!” Mack snapped banging the top of the counter, her back tense, her back to Sophie

"Bluebell, it's going to be ok." she said. "He was just staking out the apartment so I doubt his aim is to kill, and I really doubt he's going to come back here again. You're safe and that's what matters."

"She may be out of jail, but she has to be on parole so they won't let her have a gun," Sophie replied. "And I'd like to see her try to hurt me. I could take her in a fight and then we'd be able to send her back to jail."

"I know, I hate it too," Sophie muttered. "But... you're allowed to be mad at me. You're definitely going to be mad at me in the future too because I do some stupid shit. Just... Please never leave me for good without letting me try to explain?"

"I know," Sophie said, "But it's easy for me to forget sometimes. I don't..." she ran a hand through her hair, not sure what she was about to say. "I still don't really know why you even like me when it would be so easy for you to leave and find someone better. Someone who wouldn't make you worry so much."

Mack heard what she said. ”You’re beautiful, I love you and you make me happy. Yes I worry and I hate you not coming home but in the end I love you and I care about you so much,” Mack whispered, her voice cracking, tears filling her eyes.

Sophie frowned as she saw Mackenzie’s tears. “Hey, don’t cry,” she said, stepping forward to wipe them away. “I’m always going to come back for you. As long as you’re here I don’t plan on leaving you behind.”

Mack heard what she said and she pulled Sophie into a hug, forgetting about the gunshot wound on her shoulder. "I'm sorry I left... I should have just slept in a different room or something," Mack whispered against her neck.

Sophie winced as Mackenzie pulled her into a hug, but she returned the gesture with her good arm. “No, you needed your space. I get it, I’m guilty of the same thing sometimes. Besides, I had Jesse and Archie with me.

Mack pulled back and looked at her. "What did you mean when you said that you didn't know what you would have done if you were truly alone?" Mack asked her curiously.
