The last few weeks for Elena have been a whirlwind that was for sure. Ever since she met Damon, the two constantly texted each other but they haven't met up since the day they ran into each other. And with Elena's busy school schedule, she hadn't really realized it. She was glad that today was a beautiful day because her last class of the day was canceled so she was going to spend the day at the park, as opposed to spending it in her dorm room. She knew that if she were to spend it in her dorm room, Stefan would be at her door as soon as he found out she was there and then Bonnie would join him as well as Caroline. It was just too many people who she didn't want to be bothered by. Especially Stefan who had been up her ass about Damon and missing their coffee meet up. She had yelled at him saying that he was only doing this because he still had feelings for her and when he didn't deny it, she walked out of his dorm room and left. There would never, ever be another Stefan and Elena. It just wasn't going to happen.
Elena made sure she had her bag, airpods and her journal before heading towards Central Park. She loved when it was nice out, it's one of the things that made her fall in love with the city. She trees were full, people were out and about walking everywhere and the kids ran around the playground and were having fun. It was music to her ears. Not everyone felt the same way as her but it made her happy, and happy was something she needed in her life.
"Ms Elena!" Joe, the pretzel vendor said as she walked past.
Elena smiled at him. "Joe. How are you doing today? Business booming?" Elena asked him softly.
"You know I live for warm days when people are out. I've already doubled my income from yesterday," He said as he took out a pretzel for her and handed it to her with a bottle of water. "My treat."
Elena took the food and the water and she grinned at him. "Thank you Joe. It was good to see you. I need to get going. Need to write down this idea before it gets away from me," Elena said as she walked towards the tree she set her eyes on. She and Joe became friends earlier this year and once a week she would visit him and if it was cold out, she'd bring him hot chocolate to keep him warm. It was a friendship that she welcomed.
Elena finally got to the tree and she sat down. She took a bite of the pretzel grinning as the taste filled her senses. She set the pretzel on her lap before digging through her bag. She found a journal, her pen and her airpods. She stuck the pods in her ear, turning on a podcast that she was listening to. She opened her book up and began to draft out this story idea that she had based on her dream the other night.
