"Yeah she followed me here. I mean we were still dating when we started but that quickly ended when I found her sleeping with another girl," Maya muttered.
A few hours later, Maya breathed a sigh of relief as the afternoon rush ended. "Holy shit I hope Hunter hires more people. We're so short staffed it's not even funny," Maya said.

Haley rolled her eyes. "It's making coffee. It would be sad if someone was bad at it." she replied. "And someone else would probably be able to show up on time."
"I'm not talking about making coffee. I'm talking about with the customers. Everyone loves you," Maya said to her with a smile. "ANd not being on time, we make it work. It's not a huge deal."

Haley sighed. “I’m not sure Hunter agrees with you. He gets pretty mad.” she replied. Suddenly without the business of the afternoon rush to occupy her mind her tiredness hit her in a wave. She grabbed a cup and started to make a coffee for herself, then paused. “Want anything?”
"Yeah well Hunter can be a dick," Maya said to her. "He's my brother by the way. So I kinda have a say on who stays and who goes..." She lent against the counter, yawning. "Sure I'll take a coffee. Little bit of cream and three sugars."

Haley glanced at Maya. She actually hadn't known that. She didn't pay much attention to hierarchy within the café, she was usually just focused on doing a good job then going home. That was all she had the mental capability to deal with at any given moment. "Got it," she muttered and grabbed another cup. "This is a family business then?" she asked.
"Guess you could say that. So don't worry. Your job is secure even if you are late. He won't fire you," Maya said smiling over at her. Truth be told, Maya had a huge crush on Haley. She didn't know if she was bi or was in a relationship so she never acted upon the feelings. "Do you want to grab dinner after work? Or do you have to get home?"
Maya frowned slightly but fixed that into a small smile. "No worries. I just figured it would be something to pass the time," Maya said to her. "Thanks for making me my coffee."
