It had been just over a week since Charley had gotten the call from the doctor and since then they’d figured out how far along she was - not very - and prescribed her prenatal vitamins which she had already been taking for other reasons. They’d also given her a very long list of things she couldn’t have. For some reason stress was on that list, as if stress was something she could avoid in her day to day life. She was very bad at functioning without stress and the very idea of trying to cut back on her busy schedule stressed her out more than anything else.
She hadn’t seen her brother in the past week; she was too busy balancing school work with following the doctor’s orders, but over the weekend she was staying at her aunt’s house while Grace was out of town. It didn’t seem very necessary, but she did miss her brother so she had agreed to it.
Friday night had gone pretty smoothly but now, as she made pancakes and bacon for breakfast, she was beginning to feel sick. She really shouldn’t have been surprised. Morning sickness had been hitting her pretty hard for the last couple of days. She usually didn’t throw up, but that didn’t change the fact that she felt like she would.
